Our 15-year-old poodle, Champ, passed away in August. After mourning him, we got a little yorkie and named him Auggie. He is full of energy, spunk, and just plain annoying sometimes. But we love having him around. He tends to get stickers in his beard, and they end up in his mouth, and they cause a lot of pain. Last night he kept chewing and acting like he had a sticker. Sierra opened his mouth to check and ended up finding teeth that were loose and falling out…literally, in her hand…like 6 of them. I freaked out a little, then decided to call someone who would know what was wrong. Chris, our vet, assured me all is well, and most people never know when their puppies lose their baby teeth. That one phone call eliminated a night’s worth of fretting waiting for the clinic to open.
In the same way, if we go straight to God when issues come up, it eliminates unnecessary stress we impose upon ourselves. HE CARES ABOUT THE LITTLE THINGS, just as we care about Auggie’s tiny, tiny teeth. We are able to reach God in a moment’s notice. But we have to make the “call.” He will lead and guide us. He will give us wisdom. And He will answer us EVERY SINGLE TIME. We don’t have to worry about him sending us to voicemail or asking us to call back during business hours. Because Chris wasn’t worried about Auggie, we quit worrying. God is in control and we should take our lead from Him. He isn’t in heaven wringing His hands over our problems. He already knows what is happening and will love us through it. Today, try to go to God with your worries before you go to google. No matter what we think, Google doesn’t have all the answers…God does!!
***Show me Your ways, Lord, teach me Your paths. Psalm 25:4
***“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5
