**My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Psalms 139:15
One day Benny said, “When God calls me home, I want to have used this body up. Worn it down to the nub and leave nothing unused.”
I’ve been thinking about that. I am definitely turning gray in a hurry. I notice changes in my body daily. Today, I choose to celebrate my body and all the gifts it has given me instead of berating it for betraying me.

LETTER TO MY BODY
Thank you for…
— Stretch marks that meant a safe place to protect the lives that grew within me
— Hands for all the hugs I receive and the precious things they carry in my arms close to my heart
— Wrinkles around my mouth and eyes for the smiles I’m able to give away
— Feet that have taken me to places of deep sorrow and places of unbelievable joy
— Eyes that see pain and cry with others when they hurt
— Ears that tune into the voices of my loved ones
— Heart that beats wildly with joy and has mends when broken into tiny pieces
— Mouth that gives kisses, sings praises to my LORD, and is able to speak
“I sure do love you.”
I am getting older, my body is nowhere near perfect and it never will be, but it showed up and woke me up to live another day, and for that I am thankful.
